VBS 2013

Our Vacation Bible School for 2013 is a kid-friendly global fair where the children will experience the love of Jesus, meet welcoming neighbors from the Bible, and explore the everyday life of neighbors from Japan, Zimbabwe, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Mexico.  We are again asking our parishioners to donate items that we can use for our decorations, Bible stories, crafts, and science activities.  If you would like your donated items to be returned after VBS, please let us know.  Thank you.

Here is the list of items we need:  plastic fruits, vegetables, breads, and other marketplace foods;  colorful pieces of fabric;  baskets;  stuffed animals (mammals, reptiles, birds);  baby food jars;  canteens;  paper towel rolls;  ping pong balls;  cactus plants;  pictures of the desert;  cereal boxes;  world maps;  large maps of Japan, Zimbabwe, U.K., Australia, and Mexico;  African drums; boomerangs; colorful tents; kangaroos;  children’s tea cup sets; owl piñata;  snow cone machine;  popcorn machine; and flags, pictures, and any other items you might have from Japan, Zimbabwe, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Mexico.

We are ready to begin working on this year’s VBS which is being held June 17-21.  We need VOLUNTEERS to be decorators, nametag and postcard helpers, group leaders, craft helpers, science helpers, actors in our daily Bible stories, snack leader and helpers, registration helpers, photographer, childcare helpers (if needed), puppeteer, and music helpers.  A signup sheet will be located in the narthex of the church.  You may also call the church office to volunteer your services (304-725-5312). An organizational meeting of volunteers and interested parties will be held at a later date. VBS is a great fun adventure.  Volunteer and be a member of a wonderful children’s outreach ministry!
