News from Amy Porterfield
January 9th was a very wonderful and special day. I am truly blessed to have been able to have my ordination at Zion surrounded by so many family and friends. First of all, I would like to thank each and every one of you for the role you played in ensuring the day happened. There was so much time and effort that went into making the service and reception happen, and I cannot thank everyone enough who helped make the day go smoothly. It was a lovely and beautiful service and I am glad I was able to celebrate it with my church family.
Additionally, I would like to extend my gratitude beyond the immediate event to everyone who has seen me grow up at Zion. You have been my Sunday School teachers, taught me how to acolyte, and helped me grow up to be an adult rooted in the Church. You nurtured me from a young child to the deacon I am today. When I first started talking about becoming a priest a few years ago, you helped me discern my call and express how God was working in my life. You prayed for me as I did my hospital chaplaincy internship, took courses at Seminary, traveled to Jerusalem, did my Diocesan internship at Welch, and took my Canonical exams. Your care, love, and support throughout the years has been invaluable.
Thank you so much.
